CONTENT AND OBJECTIVES:
    1. Developing Web Applications under RAD
      • Navigate with the Web perspective, Palette view and Page Data view.
      • Define the site strategy and design the site; then create or import the web resources, test the site, publish the site to a server, and maintain the site.
      • Create a web application project to create a dynamic website.
      • Create and display relationships between pages in the website structure using Website Designer.
      • Import a website into Website Designer.
    2. Application Flows - Web Diagram Editor
      • Edit diagrams using the Web Diagram Editor.
      • Customize the Web Diagram Editor by setting preferences.
    3. Web Page Design - Page Designer
      • Develop web pages using Page Designer, CSS Designer, link utilities, image editing tools, and preview functions.
      • Use the JSP File Wizard to create a basic JSP file.
      • Use the Servlet Wizard to create a servlet.
      • Use the Filter Wizard to create Java filter classes.
    4. Developing JEE Applications
      • Use the Project Explorer view to work with a JEE application.
      • Configure Java from the Workbench > Capabilities menu.
      • Define an EAR file for deployment in the Application Deployment Descriptor editor.
    5. Servlet Basics
      • Use the Rational Developer workbench to develop, debug, and deploy servlets.
      • Add an existing servlet or JSP file to the deployment descriptor.
    6. Servlet Interaction Interface
      • Add annotation-based programming tags for use within web projects as providers of metadata.
    7. JSP: JavaServer Pages
      • Create JSP code for imports a file using the <%@ page import directive to the computeSalary function.
      • Add and delete the record of a new employee into the database.
    8. Model / View / Controller Pattern
      • Reorganize the employee JSP system into a MVC framework.
    9. Databases
      • Create and allocate a database using a database selected by the instructor.
      • Define and populate a table.
      • Code a JSP program to browse the table.
      • Code a JSP program to retrieve meta information about the table.
    10. JSP Expression Language and Standard Tag Library
      • Implement JSPs that use a standard tag library for the purpose of executing actions to simplify presentation logic.
