DATES:

CONTENT AND OBJECTIVES:
    1. Data Warehousing Basics and Hardware
      • Identify the key components in a data warehouse.
    2. Design and Implement a Data Warehouse
      • Given the logical design documentation from the data warehouse schema, write a physical design.
    3. ETL with SSIS: SQL Server Integration Services
      • Use SQL Server Integration Services to transfer data and run a transformation.
    4. SSIS Packages: Debugging and Problem Resolution
      • Given a SSIS package, determine the error type and the source and cause of the error.
      • Change to package to contain an event handler for the package.
    5. Incremental ETL: Extract Transform Load Process
      • Code an ETL with a Change Data Capture.
    6. Data from the Cloud into a Data Warehouse
      • Extract data from a MS SQL Azure database; load data into a MS SQL Azure database.
      • If an MS SQL Azure database is not available, the instructor will provide an alternative example.
    7. Master Data Services
      • Use Master Data Services to import and export data.
    8. Deployment and Configuration of SSIS Packages
      • Create and deploy an SSIS project.
      • Schedule the SSID package using the SQL Server Schedule Agent.
    9. Consuming Data in a Data Warehouse
      • Given a case study, create a BI: Business Intelligence solution.
      • Use Power View to utilize a report.
