CONTENT AND OBJECTIVES:
    1. Stored Procedure Featureset
      • Identify the performance advantages of using stored procedures.
    2. IBM Db2 Data Studio
      • Install and utilize the Data Studio.
      • Use Db2 Data Studio for creating new stored procedures with multiple arguments and parameters.
      • Use the Data Studio to specify a query for the stored procedure.
    3. Java and Db2
      • Examine the features and advantages of using Java to code stored procedures.
      • Determine the JAR location.
      • Copy a JAR to the path.
      • Check JDK and driver versions.
      • Set environment variables.
    4. Java Db2 Stored Procedure
      • Code a simple Java stored procedure.
      • Use the Db2 Development Center tools for creating the procedure and coding the details.
      • Issue the CREATE PROCEDURE command to identify the procedure to Db2.
      • Test the procedure.
    5. Designing Java Stored Procedures
      • Become knowledgeable with and apply the proper approach for designing stored procedures.
    6. Coding Java Stored Procedures
      • Code and test a Java stored procedure.
      • Code integrated stored procedures.
      • Invoke the stored procedures from a Java client application.
    7. Deployment and Execution
      • Deploy programs to a server.
      • Create an EAR of all the programs.
      • Deploy it to a web server: WebSphere, WebLogic, Oracle Application Server, or Apache Web Server.
    8. Defining SQL Procedures
      • Create a stored procedure using SQL/PL.
      • Write a simple stored procedure which receives values and return resultsets.
    9. SQL Procedures Language
      • Create a stored procedure for processing errors.
      • Write a stored procedure to rollback and transmit an error code to the calling program.
      • Receive values and return a resultset.
