2. Designing Reports in Visual Studio .NET
   • Acquire familiarity with Crystal Reports in .NET projects.
   • Add Crystal Reports to .NET Projects and create a report with the Report Expert.
   • Run and test the report and make changes to the report.
3. Enhancing Report Functionality
   • Sort, group, and summarize data in a .NET project.
   • Create a detail and summary report in an ASP.NET application.
4. Delivering Reports to the Browser
   • Learn to control the Crystal Reports web forms Viewer from within the application.
   • Create a report with the full or lite version of Crystal Reports; then display the report using the CrystalReportViewer control.
   • Set the Viewer's properties: CrystalReportViewer.ShowRefreshButton, CrystalReportViewer.ShowCloseButton, and CrystalReportViewer.ShowGroupTreeButton.
5. Building Interactive Web Pages with ASP.NET
   • Learn how to simplify user input with web form controls and ensure appropriate data with validator controls.
   • Develop a front end to the report which allows the user to enter in the data by using extraction and filtering.
   • Ensure that the data is valid before passing it to Crystal Reports.

   • Learn how to export reports to a PDF.
   • Using the report from the previous exercises, programmatically create a PDF of the report results.
7. Designing Desktop Applications
   • Develop windows programs and modify the Viewer window.
   • Learn how to program the MDI parent, child, and dialog forms and activate menu bars and context menus.
8. Employing the Crystal Reports Viewer
   • Learn how to control the Viewer with code.
   • Set Viewer options and properties and bind reports at run-time.
9. User Interfaces
   • Have Date Pickers and other controls included in the Viewer.
   • Display the reports with combo boxes.
   • Manage the list boxes, file selection box, and Date Pickers.
10. ADO.NET for Web and Windows Applications
    • Connect Crystal Reports to ADO.NET datasets.
    • Code a C# or VB application for creating and populating a dataset and displaying the information in Crystal Reports.
11. Crystal Reports as Web Services
    • Expose Crystal Reports classes as web services.
    • Create a .NET Windows Application that consumes Crystal Reports web services.
12. Security
    • Acquire proficiency in using Crystal Reports in the .NET environment.
    • Become familiar with security in SQL Server and integrated security with the MS Windows family of operating systems.
