CONTENT AND OBJECTIVES:
    1. Web Services
      • Code a program that serves as an alternative web service.
    2. Web Service Architectures
      • Develop and design an application using the web service model.
    3. Web Services Technologies
      • Review the benefits of utilizing XML and SOAP in web services.
    4. Consuming Web Services
      • The WSDL: Web Services Description Language is an XML-based language that can be used to provide a model for describing web services.
      • The WSDL defines services as collections of network endpoints or ports.
    5. Simple Web Service
      • Code and test a simple web service.
      • Implement two simple methods; one method will be available to the web service consumer and the other will be a worker method.
    6. Web Services: Publishing and Deploying
      • Publish a web service to the IIS server; allow the user to find this service.
    7. Securing Web Services
      • Build encryption into the web service for data security.
    8. Designing Web Services
      • Design a web service for scalability and performance.
      • Determine parameter attributes and size.
      • The design will need to account for basic exceptions.
    9. Nonstandard Web Service Implementation
      • The instructor will provide guidelines on nonstandard web service implementations.
