DATES:

CONTENT AND OBJECTIVES:
    1. .NET Framework Class Library
      • Organize, sort, and extract data from the System.Collections ArrayList and compare it to the Hashtable class.
    2. File Input/output and Directories
      • Read and write a binary file with the FileStream Object.
      • Retrieve data from random access I/O.
    3. SYSTEM.IO.FILE
      • Write events to the Windows Event Log using System.Diagnostics.
      • Display information from Active Directory services.
    4. Message Queues
      • Pass data between the messages in the two processes.
    5. Manipulating XML Data
      • Read and parse an XML file.
      • Code a routine which writes the XML data to a text file.
    6. COM+ Component Services
      • Code an application which will support legacy COM transactions.
    7. Building Web Services
      • Code and test a consumer web service.
    8. Web Service Description Language
      • Create and extend the web service from the pervious exercise with additional methods.
    9. Creating a Simple Web Service
      • Generate a skeleton web service and modify the code for consistency with the exercise specifications.
    10. Accessing Data with ADO.NET
      • Access a legacy database using a multi-tier application and ADO.NET.
    11. Displaying Database Data
      • Display database metadata by retrieving information from the catalog.
