DATES:

CONTENT AND OBJECTIVES:
    1. Services
      • Design a web service; then code and test the web service.
      • Code a client which consumes the web service.
    2. LINQ
      • Code a program to query a database using LINK object initializers and implicitly typed local variables.
      • Code a program for extracting data from an XML file and display the results in hierarchical order.
    3. ASP.NET Security
      • Create a small application that includes authentication and authorization.
      • The configuration information will also need to be encrypted.
    4. Test Driven Development in .NET
      • Develop data for testing the previous exercise.
    5. Silverlight
      • Code an application which will run on Silverlight. The instructor will address the issues associated with different Silverlight versions.
    6. WCF: Windows Communication Concepts
      • Code a WCF application which can use SOAP messages between two processes; this will serve to make WCF-based applications interoperable with any other process that communicates with SOAP messages.
    7. Caching Patterns and Practices
      • Implement client-side caching.
    8. Diagnostics and Exception Handling
      • Modify an application to include comprehensive exception handling capabilities.
