DATES:

CONTENT AND OBJECTIVES:
    1. .NET Framework Architecture
      • Examine the components which comprise the .NET Framework Architecture.
    2. Visual Studio .NET IDE
      • Navigate Visual Studio and use the views.
    3. Program Types
      • Examine the relationship between applications and services.
    4. Windows Forms
      • Create windows forms with custom events.
      • The application will dynamically modify the properties of the windows class used to create the form.
    5. Controls
      • Code controls and use the designer for inserting controls on to a form.
      • Set the order of the tabs for the generated controls and display modal dialog boxes for error conditions.
    6. Exceptions
      • Code the windows application from the previous exercise to include handling exceptions with the try Block, catch Block, and throw Statement.
    7. Components and .NET Assemblies
      • Extend a visual control using visual inheritance to include special processing.
    8. Data Binding
      • Bind a database to a text and listbox control.
    9. Web Services
      • Code a simple web service and invoke the web service with the generated web service test application.
    10. Testing and Debugging a Web Application
      • Use the web design to create a web application for displaying data from an XML file.
      • Test and debug the application.
    11. Deploy a Windows-based Application
      • Deploy the debugged application from the previous exercise to a MS Windows Server system running IIS: Internet Information Server.
