FM/Db2 with Db2
Navigate through the panels to examine the edit, copy, and print utilities.
Examine the utilities for: 1- Listing Db2 objects. 2- Managing Db2 privileges. 3- Generating JCL to run Db2 stand-alone utilities. 4- Exporting and importing Db2 tables to or from QSAM or VSAM datasets. 5- Creating data to populate Db2 tables. 6- Prototyping SQL SELECT statements.
Working with Templates
Use templates to provide a formatted view of data; this will provide the capability to view, edit, and manipulate data according to the columns and datatypes provided in the instructor supplied tables.
Viewing Db2 Data
Given a table provided by the instructor, view the content; review the information provided for NULL columns.
Examine the column information provided by FM/Db2.
Filter all NULL values.
Changing Db2 Data
Specify the start position for the FM/Db2 editor session.
Set options for the current FM/Db2 editor session.
Validate and save changes to the FM/Db2 editor session.
Insert, update, and delete row in a table.
Creating and Dropping Db2 Objects
Create a table with its associated indexes.
Create a DISTINCT type.
Populating a Db2 Table with Data
Copy a table from another table.
Copy a table from a QSAM dataset.
Lists of Db2 Objects
Use the Object Panels to display and perform operations on the tables.
Use this utility to determine table attributes.
Managing Db2 Privileges
Use FM/Db2 to display and grant privileges.
Db2 Batch
Perform a Db2/FM export of a Db2 table.
Copy the EMP table to a DSNCOPY.EMP.
Update any rows in the target table that generate duplicate key errors; the threshold is a maximum of 100 duplicate key errors.
Working with SQL Statements
Prototype a series of Db2 SQL statements.
Create a dataset with SQL statements and execute the statements in the dataset.
