    1. Getting Started
      • Examine the usage of functions and modifiers.
      • Recognize the differences among functions, modifiers, and parameters.
    2. Coding
      • Use multiple dataset identifiers and modify JCL for the dataset indicators.
      • Use a variety of formats for location and length elements.
      • Search data with the scan parameters.
      • Code useful comments.
    3. Managing Data
      • Delete a specific record from a dataset.
      • Perform a global change in a dataset.
      • Reformat a dataset to increase its size and store a constant in each record.
      • Create a hash total of a column.
      • Create multiple extract files with a single pass of the input data.
      • Process variable-length record datasets.
    4. File-AID Commands
      • Compare two datasets.
      • Drop selected data.
      • List, print, and dump selected records.
      • Insert a new record.
      • Create compound conditionals using ANDs and ORs.
    5. Programming Techniques
      • Create a test file populated with data.
      • Repair a dataset with invalid numerical data.
      • Extract data and accumulate totals.
    6. Reformatting Records
      • Create a REFORMAT dataset.
      • Reformat data by selecting a subset of the fields.
      • Execute the reformat online.
      • Execute the reformat in batch.
      • Modify the REFORMAT dataset.
    7. Compare File
      • Comparing two files using default options.
      • Change the options and recompare the datasets.
      • Analyze the Compare Report.
    8. Record and Member Selection Logic
      • Code a more complex condition.
      • Select the members name.
    9. Output Reports
      • Review the File-AID report.
      • Analyze the report statistics.
      • Review an invalid packed field error report.
