CONTENT AND OBJECTIVES:
    1. REXX Featureset
      • Code a short data entry and display program.
      • Code a data entry and display screens using the simple SAY and PULL commands.
    2. REXX Statements
      • Calculate a temperature conversion program.
      • Modify the temperature conversion program to include an explicit execution of a procedure.
      • Store the data into a set of compound variables.
      • Given a department code, determine whether the code is valid.
      • Reformat a date into several different formats.
    3. Functions and Subroutines
      • Code a subroutine to accept and return calculated data.
      • Demonstrate the advantages and disadvantages of sharing data.
      • Use string manipulation and built-in functions to read a comma delimited file and reformat it into a fixed position file.
    4. Application Development
      • Code and test a data entry program for editing each of the entered data items.
      • Given a nested IF program, convert the IF to a SELECT statement.
      • Use loops to create a multiplication table.
      • Use PARSE commands to read a comma delimited file and reformat into a fixed position file.
      • Code a help and error routine to display assistance from the source code.
    5. Data Structures, Input/Output, and Host Environment
      • Code a program that displays the attributes of a dataset.
      • If the dataset is a partitioned dataset, include a list of its members.
      • Determine if a member in a PDS exists.
    6. REXX Pitfalls
      • Given a REXX program provided by the instructor, use the Interactive DEBUG Facility to determine the problems and fix the code.
    7. REXX: Db2 and VSAM
      • Connect to a Db2 database and retrieve a single row.
    8. REXX and Dialog Manager Services
      • Display a simple panel to enter a name.
