DATES:

CONTENT AND OBJECTIVES:
    1. SQL: Syntax and Overview
      • Create a constraint; attempt to violate it and produce an error.
    2. SQL Queries
      • Code queries using Db2 derived columns and mathematical expressions.
      • Code and execute basic queries for retrieving data.
    3. Using JDBC
      • Code a program to connect to a Db2 database.
      • Run a basic query. Process any SQL exceptions.
    4. Scalar Functions and Arithmetic
      • Code SQL performing arithmetic on data using functions and constants.
    5. Grouping Values
      • Produce a summary display with statistics.
    6. Join Operations
      • Perform basic joins on multiple tables.
      • Join data from two tables using an inner join and a full outer join.
    7. Unions and Subquery
      • Code a UNION and UNION ALL clause and demonstrate the differences.
    8. Updating Db2 Tables
      • Code multiple DML statements that will modify tables.
      • Update single rows, multiple rows, and all rows.
      • Insert a single row and perform a multiple row insert.
      • Delete a single row.
    9. COBOL and Java Datatypes (optional)
      • Code a wrapper around a Java/Db2 attribute.
