 CONTENT AND OBJECTIVES:
    1. Architecture
      • Examine the features and options for running Db2 stored procedures.
      • Outline the flow of data between the client and the stored procedure.
    2. Application Environments
      • Examine the environments and clients that are used with Db2 stored procedures.
      • Examine WLM environments and the nesting of stored procedures.
    3. Db Stored Procedures
      • Examine Db2 systems and other Db2 components that utilize stored procedures.
      • Acquire familiarity with Java stored procedures and their advantages.
    4. Interfaces to Application Development
      • Utilize program procedures and recognize the issues associated when interfacing with the operating system and other programs.
      • Code stored procedures using FENCED or NOT FENCED and THREADSAFE or NOT THREADSAFE.
    5. Coding Stored Procedures
      • Acquire proficiency in repairing stored procedures.
      • Handle common errors that will be encountered in the life cycle when developing or executing a stored procedure.
      • Code stored procedures to facilitate maintenance, error control, and reporting.
    6. Coding Client Applications
      • Code a client program for testing a stored procedure.
      • Code a stored procedure and the client program for invoking the stored procedure.
    7. Transferring Multiple Resultsets
      • Code a stored procedure for generating multiple resultsets.
      • Code and test a stored procedure that creates two resultsets from two different tables.
    8. Performance Considerations
      • Acquire proficiency with the features and options associated with enhancing the performance of stored procedures.
      • Use performance monitoring tools.
