CONTENT AND OBJECTIVES:
    1. SMS Introduction
      • Review the purpose and use of SMS classes.
    2. SORT Utility
      • Sort a dataset with one sort key.
      • Sort a dataset with multiple sort criteria.
      • Print a total of a numeric field.
    3. Data Utilities with SORT Utility
      • Reformat the input record.
      • Reformat the output record.
      • Extract records based on multiple criteria.
    4. Advanced IDCAMS Utility
      • Code statements for defining datasets and list catalogs.
      • Code modal commands for specifying the conditional execution of functional commands.
      • Analyze and report on the structural integrity of the index and data components of a KSDS.
    5. Conditional Step Execution
      • Code JCL that will bypass or execute later steps based on the condition codes of prior steps.
      • Utilize the COND parameters and the IF statement.
      • Review issues with the IF statement coding techniques.
    6. Referback Options
      • Code a DSN backward reference to reference an earlier statement in the job.
      • Code a DDNAME backward reference to reference an earlier statement in the job.
      • Code a REFDD parameter used to specify attributes for a new dataset by copying attributes of a dataset defined on an earlier DD statement in the same job.
    7. GDG Processing
      • Create a GDG dataset using IEHPROGM and IDCAMS.
      • Retrieve a GDG using absolute and relative dataset names.
      • Delete the GDG base.
      • Create multiple datasets for a GDG in a single job.
    8. JOBLIB and STEPLIB
      • Code a concatenated STEPLIB for a step execution.
      • Convert the STEPLIB to a JOBLIB.
    9. OUTPUT Command
      • Combine the parameters from the SYSOUT DD statement and one OUTPUT JCL to write the SYSOUT dataset.
    10. Advanced Catalog Procedures
      • Code and override multiple catalog procedures.
      • Nest a catalog procedure.
      • Override a single dataset within a concatenated dataset.
    11. VSAM and JCL
      • Allocate a VSAM dataset using JCL instead of IDCAMS.
