DATES:

CONTENT AND OBJECTIVES:
    1. ISPF Environment
      • Log on and off.
      • Examine the online help facility.
      • List and set the functions keys.
      • Logon and reconnect to ISPF, set the initial command, and logoff the system.
      • Setup the ISPF environment.
      • List the function keys and change one of the function keys.
      • Review the options on the main menu.
      • Modify the primary panel by adding a calendar to the screen.
    2. TSO Commands
      • Execute various TSO commands.
      • Invoke ISPF commands.
      • Execute a CLIST command and review the CLIST.
      • Allocate and free datasets.
      • Load and execute a program.
    3. Browsing
      • Use libraries, datasets, and MSL: Member Selection List.
      • Use the BROWSE and MSL primary commands.
      • Given a dataset, browse/edit the dataset and use the hexadecimal, COLS, FIND, LOCATE, and scrolling commands.
      • List all the members in a PDS.
      • Perform a locate operation and select the member.
    4. Editing
      • Practice using the CHANGE, FIND, TABS, CREATE, COPY, MOVE, and other edit commands.
      • List all the members in a PDS.
      • Use line and primary commands.
      • Given a PDS, create a member, and copy the data from another member.
      • Modify the data member using INSERT, DELETE, REPEAT, COPY, and MOVE commands.
      • Save the member and also save under a different name.
      • Sort the data.
      • Search and replace a string.
    5. Compiling Programs - Optional
      • Perform an online compile and link of a program.
    6. Examining Output
      • Browse a listing; reroute a job to a different class.
      • Cancel a job.
      • Examine running jobs and check the position in the queue.
    7. Dataset and Library Maintenance
      • Print multiple members in a PDS.
      • Compress a PDS.
      • Delete multiple members in a PDS.
      • Use Option 3.2: Data Set and Library Maintenance to allocate a new PDS, check the attributes of the dataset, and rename the PDS.
      • Create, rename, and delete datasets.
      • Copy members in a PDS.
      • Use Option 3.3: Copy and Move backup all the members in a PDS and copy selected members.
      • Display a list of datasets.
      • Select a dataset to be edited.
      • Compress a PDS.
      • Free unused space of a PDS.
      • Display the attributes of a dataset.
    8. Running Utilities in Batch
      • Submit an IEBGENER program to copy a file.
    9. CLISTs: Command Procedures and Dialogs
      • Code a procedure that accepts data from the user and echoes the input.
