DATES:

CONTENT AND OBJECTIVES:
    1. Introduction
      • Examine the allocations for panels, CLISTs procedures, REXX procedures, messages, and tables.
    2. Dialog Manager Panels
      • Create a data entry panel with field validation.
      • Data is to be written to a QSAM dataset.
      • Panels should be controlled with a REXX or CLIST procedure.
    3. Variable Services
      • Pass variables between multiple procedures.
      • Optionally code a COBOL program that read the variables and passes updated values to the REXX or CLIST procedure.
    4. Message Services
      • Using the previous data entry, code customized error messages and tutorial for the end user.
    5. Dialog versus Select Services Dialog Testing
      • Create a menu to navigate to the data entry.
      • Display listing panel and exit.
    6. Table Handling
      • Code and test a Keyed Dialog Table to provide values for entered codes.
    7. File Tailoring
      • Create a skeleton JCL that is generated and submitted by the user.
    8. Special Processing
      • Code and test a program to use the LIST service that allows a dialog to write data lines directly to the ISPF list dataset.
    9. Language Interfaces and Compatibilities
      • Code a SELECT service using COBOL.
