CONTENT AND OBJECTIVES:
File Allocation
Allocate a file using JCL DD statements and establish dataset attributes.
Allocate a file using the TSO ALLOC statement and establish dataset attributes.
Associate the allocation with PL/1 statements.
Defining and Using Consecutive Datasets
Define a file for stream-oriented data transmission by a file declaration.
Define a stream file, using a DD statement, an environment variable, and the TITLE option of the OPEN statement.
PRINT Files
Print a report using PUT EDIT statements.
Print a report using PRINT LIST statements.
Stream Data Transmission
Use the GET to assign data values from a dataset to multiple variables.
Code a stream input statement where the source data stream is written on the specified STREAM OUTPUT file without alteration.
Read data directly into an array.
Handle and process I/O errors and interrupts.
Record I/O
Defining files using record I/O specified printer control options.
Create a dataset with record I/O.
Accessing and updating a dataset with record I/O.
Read a CONSECTIVE file and handle the end of file processing.
Code a program using the READ/SET combination.
VSAM Files
Define a VSAM KSDS file using PL/1 dynamic allocation.
Retrieve the data in key sequence.
Pair an Alternate Index Path with a file.
Structures
Create and use structures.
Execute programs with record I/O.
Read each record from the Account Receivable Dataset.
1- Print every record into the Account Receivable Report.
2- Format the date into mm/dd/yy and permit 20 entries on a printed page.
3- Print a grand total of the invoice amount at the end of the report.
