DATES:

1. Introduction
   • Become familiar with datatypes and how to define them.
   • Create fields for: 1- strings. 2- different numeric fields. 3- a character. 4- a boolean type.
2. Programming Basics
   • Code a simple class with a method.
   • Use basic functions and operators.
   • Create and test a class that contains two instance variables for representing the numbers showing on dice and an instance method for rolling the dice.
3. Flow of Control Statements
   • Understand and utilize flow of control statements.
   • Common statistics include the mean and the standard deviation.
   • Code and test a class called StatCalc that can be used to compute these statistics, as well as the sum of the items in the dataset and the number of items in the dataset.
4. String Manipulation
   • Acquire proficiency with the string and string buffer classes.
   • Convert a number into Roman Numerals.
5. Class in Java
   • Become knowledgeable with classes and subclasses that use inheritance, interfaces, final classes, and packages.
   • Create the game of Blackjack in a class.
   • The specifications will indicate the methods, class structure, usage and other information needed to create the classes.
   • Code a program to test and run the class.
6. Error Handling
   • Code exception handling in a program.
   • Code a routine to handle zero divide and overflow math errors and any general error condition that can arise.
7. Servlet
   • Code and test a servlet on a web server.
   • Code a servlet that displays two numbers and uses the / and % operators to display the result and remainder after they are divided.
